Snapshot of the day

The day starts at 9.00am at one of our venues with theory sessions and test in the classroom. Everything you need to complete the course is supplied.Morning tea and generous lunches are available at all our venues for reasonable prices.

Break times are flexible, subject to student numbers on the day. Your trainer will advise you of the ordering process at each venue. Some students bring their own packed lunch.

Once the theory/test and lunch break is over then it's off to the local ramp. (ramp locations and details are provided on confirmation of booking). Our ramps are selected for their close location to our venues and ample parking.

The day finishes around 5.30pm depending on which boat trip you are rostered onto.

  • Sensible non-slip footware (no thongs)
  • Jacket - weather/warm

Refresher for those who have not been boating for a while

This College is required to provide a high standard of training in order to achieve accreditation with NSW Maritime and NSW VETAB. Other training to obtain a boat licence is available but does not meet the standards set by NMSC which are illustrated by competencies and training package units that this RTO offers:

You will receive a 'statement of attainment' and a completed 'application for a boat licence' if you are successful which when presented personally will be exchanged for a boat licence at NSW Maritime/RTA offices on payment of the license fee - an eyesight test maybe required.
