PWC LICENCE UPGRADE - theory only

JetskisPWC's (personal watercraft/jetski's) have become a popular choice for on-the-water activities. That's why it's important to know how to drive them safely, competently and with courtesy to other boaties.

In NSW it is compulsory for every person operating a PWC to hold a PWC Licence. To obtain a General or Young Adult PWC licence you need to have first obtained your General or Young Adult Power Boat Licence. A Young Adult (12-16 year old) PWC licence holder is subject to the same restrictions as a Young Adult General Licence. The minimum age to obtain a General PWC Licence is 16. PWC licences are issued as plastic photo cards and will expire if not renewed. PWC licences are available for either 12 months or three years.

The NSW Boating College Satisfactory Course Completion Certificate issued at the completion of the course is not a licence. It needs to be presented to NSWMaritime within 12 months of course completion to obtain the licence. The Certificate becomes void after 12 months and complete re-assessment is required, along with payment of an additional assessment fee.
