Night Boating
Boating at night can be a daunting and disorientating experience. The College night boating training program is a great way to gain night boating skills and local knowledge of Sydney harbour at night.
Running monthly the Boating at Night program includes:
  • Pre-start checks in preparation for night boating
  • Identifying navigation aids and light charateristics
  • Local knowledge planning for night operations
  • Observing commercial operations
  • Observation of navigation light intensity
  • Running bearings on channel leads
  • Travelling at speed at night
  • Anchoring at night
  • Running along a shore line at night

Onboard the College vessel Skipper 1 students will travel down Sydney Harbour on a traverse to Manly and returning to Drummoyne Ramp.

A practical on-water training and assessment session, students will be issued with a Course Completion Certificate at the end of the training.

Limited to six students per course bookings in advance are recommended.
