NBC ONLINE FREQUENTLY ASK QUESTIONS

Q:How does NBC ONLINE work?
A: Once you have completed the online booking and payment process you will be issued with password for accessing the secure online course area of our website where you will complete the online boat licence course. The course is structured to help you learn and you cannot proceed to the next section until you have correctly completed the exercises set.

WARNING - If you allow others to do the study with you they cannot obtain a unique completion number - each student attending must pay their own fees. Beware that others using your study may proceed to complete the study before you have, therefore the study could be lost to you.

Q: Is a tutor available to answer questions?
A:
Yes, even though you are studying at a time and place that is convenient to you, you still benefit from expert guidance and assistance. Our tutors have a wealth of marine experience and will provide feedback on the assessments you complete. You should never feel alone. If you experience a problem a tutor is only an email or phone call away. Email info@nswboating.com.au or call 1300 723 112.

Q: How long do I have to complete the course?
A: You will be provided with access rights to the online course for up to 35 days from the day your password access is issued  to your email address. The course should take 5 hours to complete so you will have plenty of time for review. We strongly recommend booking for the Boat Licence Test while your learning is still fresh in your mind.
Q: Once I have completed the online course what do I do next?
A: Notify us that you have completed the study by activating the completed button at the end of the study. You must complete the study and book the test within 30 days of initial access to the program. Call 1300 723 112 or book the test online: www.nswboating.com.au. On completion you'll be given a "unique completion number" and the College will issue you with a "certificate of attendance" for your presentation to the NSW Boat Boating College Boat Licence Testing Officer.

Q: What does the boat licence test consist of?
A: The NSW Maritime approved Boat Licence Test is a mutliple choice test of 45 questions with two sections. Section A consists of 20 questions of which all must be answered correctly. Section B consists of 25 questions of which a minimum of 20 questions must be answered correctly. You will be allowed 45 minutes to complete the test. The tests will either be marked pass or fail.

Q: If I am not able to attend one of the College venues to sit the boat licence test are there other venues where I can do this?
A: No, you can only book to sit the boat licence licence at one of our venues with one of our qualified trainers.

Q: How do I pay for the course?
