BOAT AND PWC LICENCE - combined course  theory only

Jetski RiderCommencing 1 June 2009 it became a requirement for NSW General Boat Licence applicants (this does not apply to PWC Licence applicants) to undergo practical on water training with either a Recognised Training Provider, such as the NSW Boating College, or by keeping log book entries from practical training with an experienced Skipper. An experienced Skipper who can verify your on water practical experience is someone such as a NSW Boating College Trainer, or an experienced Skipper. (must have held a boat licence for a minimum of three years)

Consisting of approxiametly 5 hours theory training this is an excellent choice for students who wish to complete both licences together. On successfull completion of the boat licence course and test students then complete the PWC licence component.

The current NSW Maritime PWC Licence Test is a multiple choice test of 15 questions of which 12 questions must be answered correctly. The course is approximately 1.5 hours, including an examination. All students are expected to have read the NSW Maritime Boating Handbook prior to attending the course. At the course you will need to show proof of identity (eg driver's licence, passport, birth certificate) and two passport photos.

Students who have significant problems with understanding, reading or writing English are advised to contact their local NSW Maritime office, where interpretative services can be made available.

You can sit this PWC licence theory test again at the next time training is held at this location or at another College venue. There is a charge for re-sitting the test again. You will need to call 1300 723 112 to book in for the test.
